So he doesn't improve or learn from mistakes which equals to zero character development great.
I've mentioned this many times, but this is not a wish-fulfillment story. If you want a perfect protagonist, then this is not the story for you. Gray will continue to make mistakes and face obstacles until the very end, no matter how strong or smart he gets. - pasare117mthCommented

That's the thing the character it's self is flawed. It is a flawed attempt at writing a flawed human.

what is cringe is him complaining about heroes only imprisoning villains and not killing, only to do the exact same thing. He talks about being different, but he is the exact sMe as those he admonishes, rhad why people keep asking for him to kill the worst ones.

Stop treating the world as a comic book and there will be no guilt. All you did was give her a chance of getting back her life. Whatever she chooses is on her you are not forcing her down any path. The argument of 'you're changing what's supposed to happen' goes back to STOP treating this world as a comic book.
