in this context its not really fanservice, more like devaluing the seriousness of the situation. If this is to be a full blown comedy and the stacks should never be taking seriously this kind of breaking the immersion can be accepted. However with the atmosphere in the last chapters it doesnt feel right/ or more it feels really disturbing to the flow and the situation.
