I just want to put this here, i dont know if it was the authors intention or not but i liked the way 'God' in this chapter said "Farewell, Mateo" which contrasted what Edward said in the previous chapter, "Farewell, Stranger". I thought that this was pretty cool use of writing skills if thats what you call it?.
This novel is very underrated in my opinion, it has a great transition from normal life to the fantasy world, I really liked the way it guided the protagonist from Earth to Greiss. It was creative and not your usual half-assed 'Truck-kun' explanation that most novels of this genre have nowadays. It has great potential and i can see that the author is trying his best to vividly describe this new environment, chapter 3 particularly had me on the edge of my seat. The writing style is similar to physical books bought at stores, kind of different towards the spaced out style of most novels but it flows great and i didnt have any problems reading it. All in all, i suggest giving it a try, I know that i will keep my head out for this one.
So from what i gather, our mc lost his consciousness in those 5 years due to a certain insanity trigger which caused him to probably become an evil spirit temporarily and must have controlled or possessed Zack in some way leading to the fatal accident of Layla? The fact that its a taboo subject in the house and the fact that Zack has some complicated guilt could point to this. Or it could simply be the fact that old enemies/relations of the two adopted came to Laylas house out of revenge of sorts.
Is this the part where mc will find his lifelong partner ; his sword that has the ability to grow along his progress? And the part where the easterners obsessively attacks him over ownership of their proclaimed artifact that mysteriously went missing decades ago? Is it also a sword that talks and gives him personal tutelage on how to become a magic swordsman, that he must first find its missing components thats impossibly strewn all over the world? Idk just some generic plot most authors use.
