No, the nightmare creatures can have seven soul cores while humans can't. Humans can only have one soul cores and they can increase only their ranks by clearing Nightmare seeds. While nightmare creatures also increase their ranks by increasing their soul cores.
However, he was forced to agree with Awakened Rock. Even though both Hero and Mountain King were way out of his league, they were still just one rank above him.

3yrs, exactly the time period since this chapter was posted. And yet the mistakes aren't corrected. Author, either take time to edit the past chapters or hire an editor to do it for you.
Lu Yan's technique had already reached an almost unreal level. Even though he had trained seriously for two or three years in this ludus, he was not even sure that he could match her level of mastery. Three years was far too long.
