The world-building is so vast and has a great amount of potential. Each character is well thought-out and presented, along with the incredible lore and investing plot. The detail in the writing is just incredible and makes you feel like you're in their story experiencing everything that is happening. This is one of my favorites on Webnovel, and I'm so glad I found it! The chapters release weekly, so I can always count on Shackles of Refuge to be my weekend read. I've become incredibly attached to the characters and invested in the story, so I am so excited for the next chapter!! :)

Why are the halflings so hated D:
She remembered all the hours they had spent playing in the fields during the day and running around wreaking havoc on the stores of their small town. She remembered the muggy summer nights when they would sit on their cots side by side before they drifted to sleep, only for the dreaded search once a week, where Jane and her mother would go to the shelter to hide from the guards with the other outcasted elves whilst Anselmo had to stay huddled in the house, knowing any one of those days he could have been tortured and killed simply for being a halfling.
