Poor Zeke, can't get a break from having to babysit an immortal. 🙃😂😉
For once Zeke's Theory is NOT holding. He complained that Kai waited for the sprout to grow into a tree before trying to stop it. Kai should've stiffened the sprout from the get go. When it comes to emotions, time is not a good guage. The sprout between the young lovers grew into a sapling in hours.
There were 2 others who drive fast cars and witnessed Alex & Zeke's fight before they headed to Black Forest to look for Abi who got jealous after she had heard the King asking Alex to pick one of the princesses to marry. Their names were not mentioned though.
I don't think Zeke lacks emotion, nor do I think he cannot understand Alex or Kai. Being the only child or the 1st born to an Imperial family or the heir to any family business, there are so much responsibilities and constrictions bestowed upon he/she. It's a struggle/torment for he/she to follow his/her heart. I suspect Zeke doesn't allow himself to feel with his iron will.
I know it's not politically correct right now; however there interaction reminds me of Pepe Le Pew.
Didn't he ask Zeke to check with the prophetess about finding a way to die? Maybe the Crystal Cavern was what she saw?
To think that Kai had to hear the Long Lost Tale post Ziggurat and witness Alex & Abi's heartbreak and rejoice at the end of final battle while going through his own heartache silently ... it's really a lot for anyone to take.
Not crave for her blood, but still need blood, correct? How did Kai recuperate after Alex drank his blood post Ziggurat battle?
I love the fact that the author kept the characteristics of the individuals and their development in the book so distinct. We tend to project our own behaviors in a situation onto others. This is so Kai, considering what's written in volume II.
Re-reading this part and thinking of that "particular conversation while gazing the sky" during the Long Lost Tale, my eyes can't help but fogged up ...
Since we know through Kai, the self-destruction process is true, wouldn't that mean Alex's mom & dad went through the exact process? He WAS the youngest Prince. His father was ill in the Lost Tale when Alex was still young and mortal. Being the King, the father must have been of royal blood as Zeke said the reason Kai didn't die was due to his royal blood. Alex confirmed his mom was human; therefore, it's not impossible to have yet another half vampire-human child in Kelly & Kai.
Gosh, Zeke is soooooo dry and direct. It's like he's describing Newton's third law of physics in a college lecture hall. 🤦♀️
Shouldn't it be over 4 months ago, considering A&A didn't see each other for 3 months and the new development mentioned just a few chapters after this?
The author did say in that earlier chapter, that Zeres had a faint heart beat when his mother, the witch Queen, gave him the dragon blood. It didn't say so about that woman.
Otherwise it would have been torturous to live w/o Abi for thousands of years and waiting.
I also have a pink jade bracelet .
Only when it comes to memory loss; however, that also stops at that word itself, not the cause nor its solution. This is far more twisted. I thought that one was already good storyline to make me feel my heart string being pulled frequently until I read this book. I thought I was only a sucker for classics like Jane Austen or the Brontë sisters books. How wrong was I! I found myself crying at 3 a.m. reading this book.
