I Woke Up on a Mind Flayer Ship… and Gods, My Eye Hurts!

William Conwell only wanted one peaceful evening: start a fresh Baldur’s Gate 3 run, make a character he wouldn’t hate in two hours, and, for once, actually get past Act I without deleting everything out of spite. After endless tweaking, experimenting, and contemplating his life choices, he finally crafted the perfect protagonist: Vrinn, a half-Drow Storm Sorcerer with wild white hair, storm-touched eyes, and zero facial hair. A sleek, striking, “I’m absolutely the main character” kind of look. He clicked BEGIN ADVENTURE. The screen flashed white. And William’s soul vanished from Earth. Across the planes, on the world of Toril, fate was twisting. A young half-Drow, Vrinn, had just been seized by Mind Flayers. Terror drowned out every rational thought as he was forced into a pod, a tadpole driven behind his eye. His heart couldn’t bear the shock. It stopped. His soul slipped away. And at that exact moment, William’s reincarnating soul arrived. Not gently. Not cleanly. But violently, crashing through the dying body’s fading life-force and slamming into the middle of the ceremorphosis ritual. The result was something the multiverse was not designed for. William awakens submerged in viscous alien fluid, lungs burning, mind fogged. Lights strobe. Flesh and steel writhe together around him. The Nautiloid groans as explosions tear through its hull. And something wriggles behind his eye. But what should have been the birth of a new Mind Flayer… isn’t. The ceremorphosis sequence was interrupted, its biological rewrite colliding with William’s reincarnating soul. Instead of transforming him, the tadpole is forcibly fused with him, its instincts mixing with his consciousness, its psionic blueprint overlaying his human soul. The Storm Sorcery meant for Vrinn is overwritten, the Weave itself bending under the strain. In its place, new magic awakens, cold, psychic, alien. A mind not entirely his own. An Aberrant Mind Sorcerer, formed from a merger that should be impossible. Dripping with mucus, breath hitching like a bad Wi‑Fi signal, and magic sparking at the edges of his scrambled brain, William hauls himself out of the pod. The Nautiloid is in full catastrophic meltdown mode. Somewhere, voices are screaming. Overhead, tentacles thrash through the sky like they’re auditioning for an avant‑garde interpretive dance. All he wanted was to hit “New Save Game.” Instead, he’s stuck in Faerûn, inhabiting a body that should’ve been deleted from the character creation screen, packing powers that read like patch notes from a bugged update, sharing headspace with an Illithid parasite, and nursing the sneaking suspicion that the universe clicked the wrong file. Still, if this is the glitchy respawn he’s got, he’ll make it work. Maybe even have some fun. After all, if the multiverse shoves a cosmic horror into your brain, you might as well see what kind of cool tricks it comes with.

Marked by the Abyss: The Demon’s Plaything

Billy Black never expected much from life, but even he didn’t think his own parents would sell him to demons for a sack of cursed gold. Betrayed and sacrificed, he awakens in the depths of Hell—not as some chosen hero or prophesied warrior, but as property. Stripped of his humanity and thrown into the lowest pits of the underworld, Billy is sold to a band of demon slavers and dragged into the Blood Crucible, a brutal gladiator arena where the damned fight, die, and rot for the amusement of their infernal masters. Weak and outmatched, he is nothing more than sport for the crowd—until starvation pushes him to do the unthinkable. In a moment of desperation, Billy devours the flesh of a fallen demon, its corrupted essence seeping into his bones. The transformation is slow, agonizing—his body warping, his mind darkening, his humanity slipping away. But with each bite, with each kill, he becomes stronger, faster, something not quite human anymore. His unnatural evolution catches the eye of Lady Vaelith, a widowed demon queen with a throne to protect and enemies circling like vultures. Intrigued by his potential—and aroused by his growing ferocity—she buys him from the pits. But not as a warrior. Not as a champion. As her consort. Billy refuses to be tamed, but the abyss is patient, and Vaelith knows how to turn fire into something even deadlier. As he spirals deeper into the pleasures and horrors of Hell, the question remains: is he still a man fighting for freedom, or has he become something far worse?

Reborn as a Dungeon in another world

William Greaves was an ordinary man with extraordinary dreams. A lover of puzzles and architecture, he spent his life sketching designs for impossible structures, hoping to leave a mark on the world. But fate had other plans. An untimely death thrust him into a foreign realm of magic and mystery, where he awakens as a sentient dungeon core—the heart of a massive, living labyrinth. At first, William is bewildered by his strange new existence. The dungeon is vast and malleable, responding to his thoughts and emotions. As he learns to control its features, he finds joy in building intricate corridors, designing elaborate traps, and populating his halls with magical monsters. Yet, his newfound power comes at a cost: adventurers and treasure hunters see him as nothing more than a prize to claim, threatening his very survival. When a curious group of adventurers breaches his outer defenses—a young mage seeking knowledge, a reckless warrior seeking fame, and a rogue with a hidden agenda—William is forced to confront a choice: remain the detached guardian of his dungeon or forge alliances to learn more about the world beyond his walls. Through these interactions, William uncovers the secrets of his creation and the greater purpose he serves in this world. But danger looms on the horizon. Rival dungeons, ancient enemies of his kind, begin to stir, and a shadowy force seeks to harness his dungeon’s power for their own dark purposes. As William delves deeper into his role as a dungeon core, he learns that he is not merely a passive overseer but a pivotal player in the battle to shape the future of the world. With his unique perspective, creativity, and determination, William embarks on a journey to transform his dungeon from a mere lair into something greater—a sanctuary, a fortress, and a legacy. But can a man-turned-dungeon hold onto his humanity, or will the endless cycle of conflict and power consume him entirely? William’s Labyrinth: Reborn as the Core is a tale of ingenuity, survival, and the unyielding human spirit, where even the cold stone of a dungeon hides a heart yearning for meaning.
