I rose slowly, grounding myself in that truth. Whatever had happened, whatever twisted misunderstanding we had, they meant nothing now. I'd do anything to keep her here, to make her believe in us again.

She’s being completely fair. Nice even. Drake is such a moron.
The accusation, the pain in her voice—everything hit me harder than I wanted to admit. But what hurt the most was the unshakable realization that Leila had no idea how much I was hurting too. She wasn't being fair, not even a little.

I have to say, all of them seemed more intelligent at the start of the story.
Leila's heart pounded in her chest, a mix of disbelief and frustration rising within her. Lily had seen her? How could that be possible? She hadn't even known the bottle was there until Drake had confronted her. And now, Lily was spreading lies about her?
