That’s true—take Brazil, for example. Indigenous peoples (according to studies, a group ranging from 1,500 to 10 million different peoples—in this case, "peoples" refers to different tribes with distinct customs). After colonization, these peoples were grouped according to their languages and cultures by the Jesuit priests, yet there were still too many to count. The most well-known groups include the Tupi, the Jê, the Arawak, and the Karib. Then came the Europeans (mostly Portuguese, but also Germans, Italians, Dutch, and Spaniards) and African peoples, who were brought as slaves. Even after 500 years, ethnic differences remain in Brazil, and it’s not just a matter of structural racism, as many tend to claim in a superficial way. It’s more of a deeply rooted xenophobia ingrained in the minds of many, due to the diverse cultures from different regions of the country. Over time, this has become increasingly evident and is deliberately fueled by the mainstream media as a way to divide the people. Sorry, I ended up venting in this comment. In the end, we were deceived. The Akatsuki was not meant to bring peace but rather to provide wealth to a small and select group of people, while exploiting its employees to the point of death. (Kakuzu's partners support this comment.)
