Perhaps he can say "but my mom is Othinian, so technically, I'm Othinian" and you know, let her know he will help regardless of being the future rulers of Abetha with taking care and supporting her people as their own kingdom (so no merging the kingdom and have the people lose their identity as Othinians). Funny how Ayira finds physical anomalies to state that Seren and Drayce were meant for each other and Seren believes her attitude and the way Ayira carries herself (her internal factors) makes her a perfect match for Cian.
Ayira had only heard about him, but finally got to see the man who was most feared and known for his red eyes. She couldn't help but muse - both husband and wife had such rare and almost nonexistent colors of eyes, definitely made for each other. - sprite_olc9dReplied to MiniMinx

I agree with your point but just also wanted to show why she had apprehensions. Recall that she said all princesses are raised to be as great as Niobe so in my thought, that means none so far has come to even touch what Othinia sees as Niobe's greatness to be able to dabble in both Abetha/other kingdoms and Othinia's affairs. If she doesn't feel she has even reached let alone exceeded the pinnacle of Niobe's success, then her only logical course would be to marry an Othinian man so she can remain home or not marry at all because if she did accept Cian's proposal, there is no guarantee that Armen, Niobe, nor her father would permit her to still help out the people of Othinia and would instead insist and even force her to focus on her duties to Abetha while they (her father) continually turns a blind eye to this illegal herb trafficking and the welfare of those impacted by it.

I mean, he considers Othinia a part of his history as he accepted Niobe as his mother but I get what she means by she has to marry an Othinanian. If she married Cian, it would be customary for her to leave Othinia like Niobe and live in Abetha, thus cutting off her need to deal with the issues of the Othinian people because her allegiance would be to Abetha. Not saying Cian would give up being the Crown Prince of Abetha to settle being king regent of Othinia but I don't recall Armen having other sons that could take up that position, just daughters, so unless Cian found a way to make it seem like Othinia is merged with Abetha without actually merging the two kingdoms to allow her to keep her authority there, she stands to lose said authority and ability to help the people there as the future Crown Princess of Abetha.

I can get Arlan's perspective to a degree, he wants Ori to fall back in love without thinking she's doing do because she is his mate but we ALL KNOW Oriana has a penchant for seeing the clear obvious and going "NAHHH" so why risk it. This girl will spend more time being on the hunt for his non-existant other mate and playing matchmaker between him and any other woman than focusing on being a happily married couple. He needs to just bite this bullet and tell her. I also hope he doesn't follow Dray's guidance and tries to "find another wife" because yes that will make Oriana jealous but has a 50/50 shot of blowing up in his face.

Oddly enough, her background technically should be on par with his; granted now she lives in a small village but I believe her maternal family are fallen nobility or royalty but he is not aware of her identity to know that she is his missing bethroed, so her pedigree by societal standards should be worthy to be with him but hopefully, we will see him fall in love with Dr. Ori from a small village and everything else will be moot (her being a black witch, his bethroed). Regarding her family killi for his mother, I believe it was her grandfather Philip as Arlan personally witnessed the murder.
