It’s paragraphs like these that make us lose the motivation to keep reading. I’ve seen translators take a trash raw story and simply delete paragraphs like these, and even modify certain cringey, pointless comments. They put in so much care that it doesn’t even feel like a Chinese story anymore. It really makes you wonder how smooth and enjoyable it would be if a translator did that with this story.
