On the surface, this book follows the usual trope of an arrogant Duke trying to make a lady marry him. But underneath lie smaller, intricate pieces such as secret schemes. The protagonist, in fact, is not a timid female but she is well-informed of herself, her needs, and desires. One thing she despises and cannot stand is the concept of marriage. A reader may have to delve in and stay with this book to fully see how the protagonist’s aversion to the Duke will develop – will it transform into love at the end of the day? Overall, it’s a great read and definitely worth your time.
