If you're looking for a well-paced system novel with excellent character development, not only for the main character but supporting characters, then you're in the right place. David begins as an orphan with no magic or talents and is useless. I'm a huge fan of works like My Vampire System and Mushoku Tensei, so I greatly care about character development. If you don't think you'll like it, just read the first few chapters. It won't cost you anything.

Did she warn me not to make trouble because she knew I stood no chance? Was I actually being pitied or warned to not get overly cocky just because I had a little bit of success getting to the 49th floor? Maybe she just didn't want me to lose right away from letting my guard down. Why would she make it look like she was really intent on killing me at the start then? Ah! I'm so confused! How do I do either of those things though? Would it be possible if the string was more robust, bulky, and thick? If I gained better control over the energy, was it truly a possibility? Actually, was it possible to create multiple hands with this ability? What if I could get my arm to regrow while keeping the connection to my detached arm? Wouldn't I become an unstoppable Asura who could wield thousands of weapons in hand at once? With an ability like that, couldn't I become a god of war heralded by all and looked down upon by none? - Kingallen2yrCommentedIt's like playing shogi where I only have a pawn, but the opponent has a full board of pieces to use. At first I easily located my brain just fine when I followed the direction Yueliang tossed it towards, but the moment I bent over to pick it up this little vermin popped out of the ground and ran off with it.
