I know Roarks Onex was pretty strong in the anime, it can use various moves like stealth rock, slam and more importantly double edge with no recoil which was the killing move for the turtwig in anime and that screech move which was used to defeat the pickachu, It was also fast so attacking it from a distance also becomes difficult. - StevenWar3dCommented

the Blissey encounter felt kind of random, would have been a little cooler if its a egg of a Happiny and could have made it hatch on the way to Cerulean City or a little later on for boding with it and character building, so he could maybe use it in battle as well. This chapter felt a little rushed, you could have made him train a little more or made him explore the city with Serena, because why wouldn't Serena want to watch his fight, so they could have gone together and Serena could have the next fight against the other sister, I am just giving my honest opinion, I can't complain, because I am to lazy to make my own fanfictions
