I get that but why all the unnecessary delaying of him meeting will. If you simply don't want him to meet him yet just give an excuse or something. This thing where will wants to meet him but the mc supposedly always manages to avoid it somehow completely unaware of the attempt is frustrating it af. When the time comes that you as the author feel the mc ready to meet him just do that. Not this thing.
