Technically Transfiguration is the magic art where you change the appearance of an animated or in animated object and Transformation is the change of the atomic structure of an animated or inanimated object most commonly found in Alchemy. Transfiguration is with a timelimit as it isn't a change of the atomic structure and therefore unstable and Transformation changes the atomic structure through magic and is therefore a timeless altercation. Also, producing something out of thin air is Conjuration.
If the word you search for is the plural of "animagus", then "animagae" is false. Magus is latin even if I'm not sure what Ani- is as a full word (in Harry Potter the spells are just butchered Latin, but could be anima for spirit) , the ending "us" indicates a masculine declination. Plural of the masculine declination is "-i" which means the correct form would be "animagi". I hope it's understandable, English isn't my first language.
