I'm so sorry about this discussion. I had a minor dyslexic moment and thought it said both eyes were closed, which is why I just thought fantasy fckery, not realizing it said only one eye. Yeah, no, I completely agree it's either both open for realism or both closed for fantasy, one closed doesn't make any sense for the exact reasons you'd stated.

It's more like we don't know what is possible there, for all we know she is hearing the movement and using that along with other senses to determine distance, or she could have a sixth sense which allows what she's doing. We have no right to dictate what is possible or not in a fantasy world.

I don't think time is very relevant anymore and I don't think Verana's age has been mentioned as at this point as long as they're older than 18 age is just a number.
