If a handred mechs 50% more deadlier then their power is equal an amount of 150 mechs. So the power of command type expert pilot is an equalent of 50 ordinary mech? Not impressive

The maximum possible value of the alien refugee fleet would have been a lot higher if it was completely intact, but Ves did not mind that. All in all, Ves almost never paid attention to them and wouldn't shed a tear if any of them died. The steady trickle of soldiers dying among the Larkinson boarding parties did not bother him at all. I think humans requires a lot of previous ship space for living and keeping a healthy mind. Humans can require as much ship space as mechs. And here the author pulls out from a hat thousands Marines

Ves had upgraded it over the past month. Given that he was in a completely new environment, he replaced and upgraded numerous modules in order to increase its usefulness in different situations. The luminar crystal weapon was another custom work from his brother-in-law. The beautiful crystal rifle was fairly slim but packed a surprising amount of punch for its dimensions. CFA doesn't necessarily need to reverse engineer anti-expert technology. They can just kidnap the creator
When a weapon gained enough consciousness and control to be able to choose its own wielder, then there was little the CFA could do!
