Nah, LoTM isn't the first novel to use the concept of spirit contracts and it definitely won't be the last.
Don't worry, it won't.
I read this novel under a much better name, Whispering Verses. Of course, it was MTL and not very good but even with that, it managed to captivate me just as much as LoTM. That doesn't mean I'm claiming it to be on the same level as the GOAT, but it isn't bad at all to scratch that itch so I recommend it. I do wonder why Qidian decided to change its name, Whispering Verses is a much better title tbh and it encapsulates an important aspect of the story. In any case, I hope WN does this novel justice and I can't wait to complete this novel.

Mr. Arthur Sanders, that is the character's full name. I don't think the chapter is so incomprehensible that this cannot be made out considering after the law enforcement guys are gone, only Nadia, Alex and the old man remain. Who else would be Arthur?
"One was a white-haired old man, wearing a black hat, a fancy suit, and carrying a cane..." "I didn't expect to see you today, Mr. Sanders ..." Honestly, I'm genuinely curious at this point, apart from what I typed above, what other way am I supposed to introduce a character? A full-on backstory, or should I have focused on his thoughts? Like I'm genuinely curious.
Thanks
