But it was the drawing of the runes that was hard. Of course, those of Asian descent and those who practiced calligraphy had a head start over everyone on this. Being uneffected by monster effects doesn't mean it can ignore continious effects. as Neither captains effect spicificly is targeted or mean for him. for example; If the monster effect was as with the Magician girl, then it indeed is uneffected, but a continious effect still applies and the guadian thingy can't attack. It is like Jinzo and Skill Drain, if skill drain is activated before jinzo is summoned, Jinzo's effect is negated, even though he negates trap cards.
