Fire is not plasma though, at least not in general. A very hot fire can generate plasma, but normal fire is juat the way in which the energy of the reaction is released, to put it simply. Though you are probably right that through generating fire, he would probably have an easier time generating lightning. But the point the author tries to make is that with the usual temperatures, it is a lot easier to maintain ice then it is for lightning and fire, as long as he doesn't have any external help in the form of fuel.
Pretty much, yes. The only real way to "dodge" a bullet is dodging the weapon, because while the bullet itself isn't dodgeable, if you can see the weapon, you could theoretically dodge out of the way before the trigger is pulled. Though it is still highly unlikely, but in life or death, you'd rather take slim chances then none.
Erathostenes, a greek philosopher, already knew the earth was round and even calculated the circumference with the help of the shadows of the same stick in alexandria and assuan on the same time of day. The fact that the earth is a globe was known by the old greeks and every major culture since then, at least by those wealthy enough to care about these things.
I wouldn't agree that pride is useless. Quite the Contrary, i think pride is one of the major driving forces of humans. Pride is the moment when you decide that your own self-worth is more then what is assigned to you. And up to a certain point, pride can push you to give your very best. Pride only becomes useless if it is either unfounded pride, because where there is nothing to push, pride as a motivator doesn't help, or if it outgrows the actual skill. And the same can be true for "greed". It can push you to be more active, to achieve greater heights. In the end, the quantity makes the poison.
But is it really hypocrisy? Zoreth and Tezka both know how terrible they were, and while they don't exactly regret anything, they did seem to try to not just massacre wherever they could. They were (and are) monsters, but monsters with restraint and their own rules. Those two new eldritches don't seem that restrained.
Yup, and it's the reason why suppressors don't work in reality like they do in movies, because while they contain the sound of the exploding gunpowder, they don't contain the sound the bullets make when they break the sound barrier.
Wat? I mean, it is made pretty clear that he feels attraction with lilith, ice princess and the like, he just has his stone heart skill that just massively improves his self control. And it is never shown that he feels any attraction to any child or anyone younger then 18... Or are you talkong about the other students, who are all older then him?
Well, if you look at the systems so far, the defense of both pieces wouldn't stack, as it meant the defense of the singular piece. So this is actually a big upgrade.
As far as i know, there was never really leather armor. There was leather clothing, that was pretty tough, but never at the level that it was used as armor. The "cloth" armor you talk about is a gambeson, and it's actually highly effective armor. It's one of the reasons that while people still think european swords were basically just mazes, they were actually no less sharp then any other, because you needed a sharp blade to get through gambeson, and even then, it could protect you very well. These things were very thick, and you probably needed more than just one or 2 strikes to get through one.
Ok, i really wanna know where that gif is from
The thing is, he really doesn't. It seems war can posses any other sword as long as lith allows it, so material isn't an issue, and if i remember correctly, even salaark said she couldn't craft a better sword, or at least not by much. So...
I think you are kinda right. I mean, mogar called lith her future herald of destruction, a guardian to cull those unworthy and purge the mistakes on the world. And this would fit with her giving him the power to see, help and avenge the dead, as the sacrifice and senseless slaughter seems one of the core features of those mogar sees as unworthy and a mistake, with the oni and the greedy abominations that turned away from their humanity. So i guess Avenger of the dead fits in well with his titel of future guardian of destruction
Half? You severly underestimated both his ex drive and his boredom :D
I agree with thrudd that Lith is a pawn. But i think she sees the figure of the pawn wrong. I say, Lith chooses to be a pawn, because everything else is not worth it at the moment. But he is a pawn one step away from the end of the board. And once he takes that step, he can choose to be any chess piece he wants :D
The system stands over the admins, so it could very well just be the system.
It's possible, instincts can be that strange. And then you have to add a crapton of magical enhancement in this universe plus a loooooooooot of experience.
That's why it is always good to read the prologue :D
