Goblins are one of the few low level monsters that are sentiment. Currently, the tend to be portrayed as having an inferiority complex and thus, highly likely to torture without reason.

with stone weapons, stabbing would be primary concern. Leather, while not as good as metal, is fairly resistant to piercing and cutting.
