I agree with your words, and I almost write the story in that way. The problem would be to develop the story from there. For example, there wouldn't be a conquest campaign, because Ryuuji would just move and that's it, the world is taken over. In addition to Ryuuji not wanting to be a tyrant, I try to convey with the story the image that he really doesn't want to own the world. For Ryuuji, nothing matters but his loved ones and his own interests. I'm a horrible author and I certainly didn't paint the right picture of my character, but I hope you and other readers understand. There will still be campaigns of conquest, because the territory of the Land of Whirlpools doesn't support adequate social advancement, but that is further ahead.
