What with the goddess saying the Merfolk were a relic of the past I was hoping he might become something a bit different..sea serpents are a thing and with that petrifying light I was starting to hope for a medusa esk transformation but I'm still loving the novel even if my hopes for him to be a devourer of the deep juxtaposed to jj's land dwelling devourer nature are dashed.

Now that you've got me thinking about it court room style I can't help but imagine Solus as the judge instead, she is the one with the hammer/gavel. While on the other hand Mogar said she needed a lord of destruction when talking about Lith which is more in line with the position of executioner. As for the jury maybe his future harbingers? The demons are typically the victims so I can't see them being the jury.
