It’s actually quite interesting. I agree that Joker would be better off dead. But this basically turns into an issue of standardization. That is, if Batman can pull the trigger on one, he should pull the trigger on all. Which means he is an authority who determines who gets to live or die. That’s not a single human’s responsibility, it is the responsibility of a collective, hence the law. But what I think Batman should do is orchestrate accidents. What can you do if Joker ”accidentally” falls in front of the barrel of a gun 😉

THIS is Batman! I really think the author understands WHO the characters are in DC. They got Superman down perfectly too! The hopeful bastion of truth.
