See that, but doesn’t change the fact that he remained a slave for as long as he did. Not to mention that he seemingly forgives her afterward as I suspected he would. Of course, considering her current situation, there’s no point in continuing to hate her, but I do despise how it’s been written out to be like what she did was for good reason by any extent and the MC being empathetic towards her after everything. At the very least the conclusion partially made up for things, but overall my interest has significantly waned.
“Reincarnated With The Strongest System” is what you’re referring to. I distinctly remember what you’re talking about. While I too hated that, the case here is vastly different as the MC here quite literally has everything that previously made him who he is as a person erased. At least the MC of that novel still retains his personality and isn’t reverent to the woman who shackles him. Albeit that doesn’t make the situation any better.
All around decent novel until about the most recent chapters outside of privilege. Novel is now ruined however as I don’t know what compelled the author to do so, but the MC has become slave to another being and has his entire personality overwritten, thus becoming a different character entirely. He has no will of his own, and now lives only to obey. Author may genuinely have good reason for this sort of plot, it serving a greater purpose later on. Be that as it may, but for the vast majority of readers, it’s a massive turnoff. Any previous appeal has been lost and I’ve come to loathe this story.
It doesn’t get any better. Continued reading on, but only regretted doing so. Couldn’t even finish the second volume, which is more than I believe this deserves. MC talks back or thinks badly of the artifact spirit in any manner and is punished for it. Whether it be instances of overwhelming pain that’d make him wish he were dead or just straight physical abuse once it’s able to leave the artifact. He’s genuinely afraid of disobeying it due to how harsh it is should he do so. There are even times where he doesn’t want to do something, but it’ll force him to do so or again, he’ll be punished. Wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call their relationship that of master and servant. The artifact spirit alone ruined the novel for me.
Have read this for a while, perhaps more than worth its time, but lately the story has deteriorated even more so than previously. I already found the entirety of his encounter with Catherine overly tedious and dragged out, but his most recent conquest of Vivienne and by extension Helena and Jennifer is even worse. Dozens of chapters are spent on a game of lies and deceit between the MC and them that are entirely unnecessary. Another dozen more on smut, only to be followed by again dozens of chapters spent on POV’s from entirely different characters just newly introduced while the MC isn’t in the picture at all for that time. And surprise, surprise, back to smut thereafter with the same women he’s been entangled with for now over 60 chapters. There’s been little to no progression to speak of. In short, the pacing is abysmal. We only get tidbits of the time the MC spends training with very little attention directed towards what I initially started reading this for and I assume a lot of others, the revenge. Up to now, outside of smut, his revenge has been subpar if not nonexistent. Having intercourse with enemies or those connected to them isn’t considered revenge, it only mentally affecting his ex-girlfriend till now. The main culprit(s) that left him in the hospital has had nothing substantial done to him from the beginning until the most recent chapters. Honestly can’t recommend this novel to anyone due to how terrible the pacing is, not to mention the plot itself that’s been negatively affected by it.
This, honestly. Been more than half a year and he’s been saying the same thing with no results to show for. Not to mention how he’s on this app every single day reading and commenting on other novels while neglecting his own and showing no care to it. I’d be surprised if we see a handful of chapters come the end of the year at this point. If there’s an ending, no doubt it’s rushed. His behavior inspires no hope or continued support from readers aside from maybe his overly dedicated fans who’ll accept anything regardless.
Time dilation artifact spirit has single-handedly ruined this novel for me.
Again with threatening him to do things he doesn’t want to do… Will this ever end?
As you’ve said so much, I’ll continue on and at least finish the second volume. As for anything further, that’s up to question. I actually read a bit further after my review, and still felt things rather abrupt in nature in how fast his relationships develop after a single interaction. Be they romantic, such as with Arrie which was entirely too fast. Friendship with Michael as that too share similar issue and they all of a sudden just living together along with his family. I know he decided to trust people after his conversation with Arrie, but I expected an easing into it. No proper buildup for things to have escalated to that stage. The daughter’s role seems to be just that of forcing the MC’s hand due to his love for children(don’t mean that inappropriately of course) and he being unable to refuse her demands which is a bit ridiculous. That aside, does the personality of the artifact at least improve? Feels like the issues I mentioned were sidestepped in these responses. It’s condescending nature and how it punishes the MC isn’t exactly pleasing.
Think I’ve given this novel a fair chance by having read and finished the first volume, but there’s really not all that much that stands out. MC is rather contradictory in nature in comparison to how he’s initially introduced. Not to mention a bit dull all things considered. Furthermore, the artifact’s personality isn’t as endearing or entertaining as intended. If anything, it’s quite irritating in how overbearing it is. MC can’t ask questions without being berated and talked down upon or just outright ignored. Always met with a teeth sucking gesture of “tsk” which the author seems to love. Missions with disproportionate punishments and rewards. Not to mention that he can’t even refuse any mission and they’re just forced upon him. Should he talk back to the artifact, he’ll get punished. How’s he any different from a slave to the “system”? Artifacts and Systems with consciousness I feel are hardly ever done well, this novel here being the case when it isn’t. If there’s a single aspect of this novel that I like is how OP the MC is. I’m a sucker for OP MC’s which is the reason as to why I’ve read as far as I have, but that can only take a story so far. Mc’s personality isn’t bad either, though I was more leaning towards him being more a loner who only lets very few people into life, but author seems intent on having him be forced to interact with others by means of his artifact issuing him a mission to attend college which I feel is largely unnecessary due to strong he is. The dreaded “academy” arc which is more often than not borig. Novel is by no means terrible however, simply didn’t meet my expectations and a bit underwhelming.
