Actually not really wings are pretty fragile if you were to right now grab a bald eagle and try to tear of it's wings it'd put up some resistance but would snap off easy for humans to have wings like that the inside of the bone would have to be hollow so it would snap and tear moderately well

Your actually more likely to go insane if your just sitting in a pitch black or pure white room with no sound except water dripping so this is plausible all be it a bit of a stretch
