The Long Bow is recorded to be the best overall weapon in medieval times. The sword and spear are tied because they are more specialized. Spears are typically used for open battlefields and the to counter cavalry while swords were more for duels or inside tighter spaces like castles. The sword is only the most iconic weapon in history not the greatest. In fact, Leonidas and the Spartans often were found to use the spear first before going to the sword so I would label both as tools for a warrior instead of mightier than the other. Plus if you look into the strength that bowmen had back in those times, you’d be amazed at how strong you would have to be to use a proper long bow. Just a history gist dump :)
I’m confused by this too but I’d say that maybe we can pretend that what the guy meant was to preserve the image of Thorian looking invincible to his people. Only way I can justify it..
I like the idea of this story and the beginning has definitely caught my interest. Personally I have always thought of the Fire Lord as being a cruel individual as he will do anything to stay in power and control others.
Honestly, he’s done more for us than the brand could’ve and we haven’t even finished the book yet😂
Figured😂
