I think you misread, too. They didn't blame him for killing his grandpa. They blamed him cause he inherited the Guild and that ****ed over the town because the town was so reliant on having a huge Guild economy and without a thriving Guild things fell apart You really shouldn't jump to harsh things like 'the author wanted it to happen'. That implies I don't think and plan on things, which I very much do. I don't add things just because... but I digress.

if you keep reading the story there's a huge reason why it happened like that, it's a twist
