Heathen
You know, she turns up at SHIELD and demands money fine, but the least she could have done was to maybe warn Fury about the hydra infestation, or at least trade her limited edition Captain America popsicle for the credit card.
I honestly don't mind it for now, as long as she does actually grow as a character.
I mean, it would serve infinitely better as a palace. First of all it just flat out looks better than the dragon ball thing, fits the Hel aesthetic better, comes with it's own army, and above all, the entire thing is basically a massive magic amplification foci. So if she actually ends up learning, or pulling any kind of magic, it would get elevated to God-tier levels while sitting on the throne. Considering that, she could also cast large scale reality bending spells to make Hel more livable by tying them to the Hanging Gardens.
I do think it is a good decision to rethink this story, and I fully agree that the whole reincarnation aspect was just needless complication, but I genuinely don't think the problem was ever about having multiple Jean's in one body, more so the way you went about it. You were trying to keep it all very structured and ordered, with rules and needless complications, as if Jean was still a heroic spirit in FATE. I think it would have made more sense to have all versions of Jean truly in one body, with all abilities of all versions without the need for any personality switches, as in Saint Jean as the baseline and being burdened with the false memories of alter, and the inhuman nature of metatron. For simplicities sake you could have even started with her just being Saint Jean, thinking that God rewarded her with a peaceful second life. Then around the Kokabiel arc where he reveals that God is dead, maybe she experiences real anger for the first time which shakes loose the Jalter memories and abilities as well. This arc could have had her grappling with the nature of her own existence, a crisis of faith, depression and dealing with all those negative emotions that she previously rejected(uhm, goth era, uhm). The later part of the fic could deal with metatron in a similar way, dealing with how her "human" parts help her resist metatron's laziness (because while it may be fun in a Fate game, in a story focused medium like a fanfic, it's only tolerable in small amounts), all culminating in some grand reveal, something like: how no one actually resurrected her to give her a second life, but instead heaven's system automatically generated her as a last resort, out of human faith as some successor/replacement for God. hence the whole Metatron - "little God" .... .. . Thanks for listening to my TED-talk.
Soo she just hijacked poor Jean's body and left her spirit hanging there for who knows how long? I honestly thought she had been following along as some kinda silent judgemental ghost with a mean glare.
Yeah you keep going on about how the Saint Jean version is affecting her personality, however one of the biggest characteristic of a saint is sacrifice. Which in this context would have been putting herself in the sight of others to protect innocent humans from getting murdered in the future by a psychopathic fallen. Also if Dohnaseek were to suddenly disappear, realistically the first suspect would be the native devils, when Raynare and the others realize that they still have no idea about them, the next possible suspect would likely be some random stray devil, rather then a seemingly normal human girl.
Yeah, but dxd is also filled with women who are quite happy to take the lead
+ she might have actually fought against dxd Metatron, so interesting interaction possibilities
Ok, what exactly has Death done to annoy her? Because their previous interaction was also just her being rude to Death.
