there are many parts of human society that are this way. like owning property or borders they technically are human concepts in the way they are executed.
Who defines what is right and what is wrong? Isn't it all based on human judgement?

what is considered overboard? and who is deciding the metric?
This was an open competition of alchemy, and both Yang Zhen and the Ghost Pill Master were allowed to do as they pleased, as long as it wasn't too overboard, they could do it.

how could you not? this is the price for over indulgence no awareness of repercussions or even the public optics of certian outcomes. as the supposed big power you needed hostages to show your authority?

this is stupid set of rules. why not just attack the other the whole time and forego refining?
Both of them would make pills, they could attack each other during the process. Whoever had stronger skills and could successfully make a pill, would be the winner. The power that they represented would become the leader of this operation.

alchemy isnt restricted to edibles or consumables.its simply the transformation of one thing into another. artifact refining could use alchemy processing to make artifacts they are not mutually exclusive.
What was the almighty being thinking when crafting this? Instead of using artifact crafting methods, they specifically used alchemical methods. Did they expect we could eat this bridge once it was crafted?
