I would say that unless blades master have a large amount of ranged attacks than rank 2 mages could probably just kite the knight using short distance teleports and powerful single target spells. so I would say that they have power equal to rank 2 magus but would most likely lose if everything was equal. Especially since magus can use pills and such to increase their physical abilities equaling the blade master.

Andrius should learn about high grade mediation techniques from Professor Croft. Then he will learn that they are needed to advance to high ranks. Then when he becomes a peak grade 3 apprentice or rather before he look for a method to get rid of the raven academies mark. When he finally hits grade 3 apprentice he should conveniently find an inheritance made for mages whos main element is darkness. Thus betraying the raven academy and becoming a rouge magus. The manual should be very good. Finally you as the author can work out the ins and outs of the way you would go about this.
