Or if the guy looks petty and vindictive. Seems a lot like a skill issue.But seriously, if you're skilled enough, accidents like those can be minimized. And mind you, it is not like in the movies. It needs an entry point, something to be able to enter the code and hack. Losing or them getting stolen is also on the individual because there are ways for it to not get stolen. Finally, malfunctions only occur when it's broken. It sounds like you're bad at your job if you let your equipment break. Sure, EMPs exist as counters, but powers can also be countered or nullified by technology.

You seem to be disregarding a little thing called "Emotions." Why would his lover allow him to have other lovers, and therefore get less attention and time from him, when she can be the only one?
