It's a decent plan but it's flawed in one major way: Cersei could either get the Mountain or Lancel to fight for her in the trial. Lancel less so but the Mountain most definitely. Lancel could be coaxed (forced) into it by Tywin saying he has to do it for the family's honor or whatever as well. Overall, it wasn't about forcing the trial by combat on them but rather by making it the only option they have the chance of winning because an actual trial would show the ******uous relationship between the siblings.

I mean he's gonna be a hero, sure, but not that naïve lmao. Though it will be split into two categories: 1) Does the attack actually have the ability to hurt or kill him? If it doesn't, he won't kill the attacker. That's like killing a toddler for smacking you on the head. At most you'll reprimand them and take their toys away. In this book that will translate to the MC beating up the person and taking them to a special supers prison. But if the attack can kill him, he can only return the attack with his full powers and if that kills the Villain...well, it's no skin off his back, is it? 2) If it's a Monster, he'll kill it 100% of the time. Monsters in this book are similar to monsters in 'Solo Leveling' - they're mindless killing machines when it comes to humans. They can't be reasoned with and there's too many of them to imprison. So the MC and all the other heroes will kill them without fail. Hopefully this answers your question and sets you at ease or whatever.
