It might seem like I'm considering this situation in a rather relaxed manner, but I promise that's not the case. I think the metal the legion armour is made of is produced or mined from one spot but chances are the colony would find/invent a metal that’s way more effective

Chances are this outbreak of fire ants was exterminated since dungeon ants are a priority extermination target due to their threat level but hopefully this is foreshadowing the colony meeting another ant type eventually
