I mention in one of the earlier chapters that human refers to basically all humanoid species. Elves, dwarves, sapients, etc.

Yeah, originally I meant to describe it as a similar effect as negative mass and its theorized gravitational properties, but... that's too complicated for a lot of people with no knowledge on that stuff so I may have simplified it too much. I made this story for fun, not theoretical physics, so I've tried to stay away from complicated stuff... but I do really love learning about stuff like this though, and plan to use it in the future a little.
It turns out when I make something float, I kind of make negative gravity, instead of pushing things away, it makes them repel one another, and by controlling the direction and strength of this force which I do subconsciously, I make it float. Doing this subconsciously sounds crazy but most people have to actively think about it. The point wasn't saying that there was no light, that would just be black, the point was saying that it is unseeable. You can still see black, the absence of light, but you can't see behind you.
It was then I noticed something weird, as the crimson gold powder covered the world it strangely seemed to disappear, but not without seeming to take the world and reality itself with it. All it left was a void, it didn't look black, white, or any color that I knew. It was nothing incarnate. Teleportation exists, but you need a machine to do it. She wants to keep the fact she can teleport without an expensive machine secret. No one knows that she didnt use a machine to teleport
I walk out the hospital and straight for the police station. I report the spot I was taken to, and show the evidence of the rope burns around my wrists from when I got tied up after I got taken to the hideout. I cover it in a later chapter, but basically, Jess of this world's past hid the fact she could float in school by training herself to repress the urge, but after the Shift, this Jess doesn't have that training. If that makes any sense.
'Well, most people have seen me floating by now so I don't think it's a bad thing to do it every once-in-a-while' I think to justify me starting to float again. Ever since I started doing it, I feel uncomfortable when I'm NOT floating. This definitely has to do with my innate talent. This urge only started once I started using Gravity magic.
