I liked how the author brought the hindu mythology aspect to the story and the pace is pretty good. could have been more descriptive so the readers could get more immersed in the story. looking forward for more chapters!

What I loved about the this book is the world building. It's very descriptive and detailed and written in a way that won't bore the readers. The readers aren't given a bunch of info dump. Talking about the character, Cagnus, a very catchy name by the way is a guy coming from a very humble background. We know his relationship with his grandfather was pretty close and his gramps taught him all he needed to know bout chess. I sympathize with him because how he fell victim to the harsh class system in the Fide Empire (Reminds me of the dark ages) How he is treated less than a dog for being a peasant. character wise, he is not out of the ordinary, he responds to his ordeals like any normal guy his age would which makes him all the more relatable. I won't giving away too many spoilers, but I assure you there are more characters which are quite interesting. Like the Knight (Although kinda hated him at first), Lady Seraphine, or the mysterious prince in row A. Chapter 4 gave me anxiety, because I was already rooting for Cagnus. If you wanna know why, read the book, you will want to know more about this amazing world created by the author! Keep it up author! Waiting for more chaps.

    ooohhh yeahhh

Sir Maxim's voice was loud and authoritative; he continued, "You dare claim to be a student of the Imperial Chess Academy with that tongue of yours? According to Academy Protocol Section A-18, Page 130413, Phrase 84. You will be fined a minimum of a hundred thousand pounds."

    whoaaa

"This young man has an artefact whose power is on the level of gods! It contains one of the many forbidden domains of International Master-like existences; what do you mean by forgiving his trespass? If this man wants to destroy this academy right here, right now, perhaps only the Princes and Archdukes can stop him!", the spear-wielding man thought silently.

    oof 😨 too harsh

The entire amphitheatre gulped as they felt chills run down their spine. The Imperial Chess Academy's internal protocol is known for its strictness and harshness. One wrong word here will get you expelled; if you commit a relatively light crime, such as disturbing the peace or littering the sacred grounds, even your noble status will get stripped.

    very relatable

"Sigh… I shouldn't ask for too much, I should be thankful for getting an opportunity to pursue education.", Cagnus sighed, "I'm studying in such a prestigious college with a bunch of nobles so the degree should be quite good."

    filthy nobles!

However, when Cagnus, with his commoner attire, stepped in. The entire lounge went silent as literally every noble looked at him with contempt and disgust.

    very descriptive

But the true beauty of the Imperial Chess Academy lay not in its physical splendour but in the knowledge and wisdom that was imparted within its walls. For generations, the greatest minds of the Fide Empire had gathered here to learn the ancient game of chess, honing their skills and strategising for victory. It was a place of learning and competition, where the best and brightest came to test their mettle and rise to the top of the chess world.
