Yeah, but you forget that he ate the aether during the Tower of Heaven arc, which, although it contained fire, was a combination of multiple types of magic. Knowing this, we can assume that he can eat this fire; after all, its propriety seems closer to fire aetherion despite the different energy types used. Corn said that for this fic, even though Reiatsu is different from Ethernanos, it's similar enough that Natsu should be able to eat it.
