I've refused to get involved with Lana Lang beyond a solid friendship. Pete Ross didn't leave town on bad terms because he wasn't carrying the burden of my secret with him, but he still ended up in Wichita due to his mother getting a new job - which ended up being a good thing because he was the one who didn't seem to buy my new geeky Clark Kent civilian persona. I had a gross thought and decided to go with it. I put my back to the Sun and spread my ass cheeks and took light where the Sun hasn't shone yet. superman is more of a universalist superhero now not even on earth most days I think the cheesy truth and justice line was cut from the original animated for obvious reasons I cant even imagine tom welling say that
"I'm going to create two personas. One persona will be the disguise. The civilian persona that no one could possibly think of as extraordinary in any way. Mild-mannered, unassuming, klutzy Clark Kent with glasses and bad farm boy dork chic. And the other persona: the confident, calm, dashing, graceful, powerful man with great posture and a deep suave voice. This will be the hero identity. The man who won't wear a mask. Who will just have a costume with a red-and-blue design and a red cape. On the front of the costume will be a symbol that looks like an "S." My name will be Superman.
