So...Madeline ate the food. Was there poison in it? In the meat, by the way, that Auntie R hunted and kindly shared with the king. Maybe the poison is not strong enough to hurt vampires, but has anybody checked on poor Maddie? I can think of one person in that family who would love Madeline out of the way.

Calhoun is hilarious! His character is very quick witted. Josh Henderson has my vote to play him in a movie or series, country accent and all, lol. Something about Calhoun reminds me of his John Ross Ewing character on the new Dallas.

Roshan has become my favorite character. For a “demon”, he sure does have everyone else’s best interests at heart. He cares for Lucian, Hazel, Irene, and loves Klara so much he devised a plan to help her brother win a war, rather than just taking her for his. He has so much to teach Lucian, not just about fighting. Don’t get me wrong, the way Lucian loves Hazel makes me swoon, but Roshan has become a strong lead as well. It is nice going between the two relationships, and now seeing how they can relate to each other.
