Umm, which part of Asia was the author referring to when saying Asian-looking (for example, Japanese citizens seem to be distinctly unique from the people in India or the Pacific islands or Saudi Arabia [yes, some of the Middle Eastern countries are part of West Asia])? Other characters were referred to using specific countries or even cities; Klea is not mentioned as African beauty but instead as Egyptian beauty, and the same goes for European characters like Emery, Thrax, Julian, Jarl Haroldson from Bergen (city in Norway???), and so on. Maybe some clarification can help so that no one calls out the author as accidental racist since certain characters that have appeared in the novel were only lumped up and labeled as Asian-looking.
