I honestly love the fact that the X-factor Ves- put into this mech by designing it for a low level pilot specifically. Any artist half paying attention can see that X-factor is the power innate in having a design intent and following through. The power is unleashed when the design is used as the designer intended. The genius of this story is that Ves is a bit of a well educated dolt that can't see what's right in front of him. If he was any brighter, then he would be over powered, the story would be too big too fast. He would be a god. He is just smart enough to understand what he needs to. A masterclass in tactical foolishness.
