I like the choice of “easing into it” even to the point of not having the first true betrayal be the bully but someone they both trust and like. I would save the bully sinario for later for the sake of escalation. Start off vanilla and build to preserve the longevity of the narrative. If you dive too deep too early then each new experience will need to be more and more extravagant, so start simple. Maybe bring Xeek (or whatever his name is) back in an arc or two.

Message for the Author - don’t you think he’s outgrown the name “Alucard”? That started because he was the anti Dracula vampire, but he is now so much more than a vampire… so shouldn’t his name evolve too? My thoughts is he should have a unique name not tied to anything, just his. That would match his new personality far more than Alucard.
