What sucks about this is that he'll be stuck as a sequence 9 for over a year before he can advance, if I'm reading things right.
What, you didn't notice anything off when the baby made his nurse maid moan from breast feeding?
I get that, I just don't understand why he didn't modify the whole thing to *not* turn him into a monster. Like, would you consider Spider-man literally being able to turn into a massive anthropomorphic spider to be an upgrade to his canon power set? Even if it made him a bit stronger, more agile and so on, the drawbacks don't seem worth it. I guess I always assumed that the insanity *and* turning into a 10 foot tall reptile abomination were equally unwanted side effects of a rushed and ill planned job of the original Peter. That he would follow Gwen's example of getting powers that are integrated into his body without some horrifying transformation.
Uh huh, You didn't mention royalties till the next chapter, only the scholarship and rented out equipment. I can't what's not there.
Yeah, this is why the whole transformation is silly. Cool in an edgy way? Sure. But also incredibly impracticable in that it's inherently inhuman and will take time to adapt to, is glaringly villainous in form, which will drag so many unnecessary problems into Peter's lap, can't be accessed with any kind of ease in public places like a costume change would, and so on.
Wait, wasn't the whole point of adapting Gwen's DNA so that he gets all the benefits of reptile-whatever without having to turn into some monstrous side form? Like, all the spider-people remain outwardly human and can access their abilities innately without any kind of transformation? Why can't uber genius Peter do the same? Feels like a step down for his power to be locked into a transformation state like the Hulk.
Yeah, sure, fine, but why lie about it to Gwen. He's falling into the classic Parker pit of lying and keeping secrets.
Why lie?
No mighty midget wolverine? Aww man...
So, original Peter made a discovery that could have netted him international love and fame, not to mention billions of dollars, and instead he got a college scholarship and some lab equipment he has to give back eventually? Yes, so resourceful...
Should have stuck to the theme of one part of the name pointing to the demigod's parentage. Like Katie Gardner or Lee Fletcher. Or just had a normal name like most of the characters in canon.
Uh huh... Daemon with Dark Sister is beaten down twice, while 14 year old Clement has no trouble.
I really hope the MC doesn't beat him. The kid has been training for like 3 years, if that, and Cole is more or less the best warrior in all of Westeros.
Utterly bodying a future kingsguard at 14 years old, in his first ever joust and subsequent duel, feels a little over indulgent.
Listen to the man, Clement.
Yikes.
Of the ship?
What? Westeros is an intensely martial culture and for a young lord or heir to be unskilled in combat will at best cripple their reputation, if not literally cripple them in the battles and wars that pop up every generation.
When did the MC go from an ambitious adult in a child's body to a whiny child in a child's body?
Clement should know how stupidly dangerous tournaments are. And that's even for fully grown adult knights with a decade plus of experience. Let alone a 13 or 14 year old boy with only a year or two of training.
