"What the hell? The last time I checked, he wasn't a noble by birth," Freddy protested. He was born and raised into a prominent noble family. As a result, Freddy treated the people who weren't nobles like dirt. In simple terms, he was a fascist. In fact, Freddy was one of the few who protested not to offer Ghost a position in their guild. True to his words, Freddy tried his best to block the offer. Nonetheless, Maxim Barnes overthrew their opinions and ordered Calvin to hire Ghost. If Freddy valued nobility, Maxim valued power. He wanted talented and powerful people to serve him instead of others. That way, he could rule the entire world in the future. With the Cosmic stream, his dream wasn't too far.

that's not Facism, it is close to being fascism but it isn't. it is more akin to... I think it was the imperial system uses by both France and the Roman Empire, right before the fall. also i think it is called classism, judging someone based on their class of birth and not their abilities.

"Of course, of course," said Aldrich. He came up beside the Chrysalis, noting her eyes sparkle as she gazed at the bracelet. And he could understand why she was so engrossed. The bracelets seemed to call to them, as if whispering deep in their very heart of hearts to take them. "This sort of feels sinister. Almost like the Emperor of the Rings movies."

I doubt that the police had access to M1A1 Abrams main battle tanks.

In the past, before the Altering, it would have been unfathomable for police forces to have firepower on the order of tanks, but with the rise of variant threats and threatened humanity as a whole, humanity managed to, for once in its history, set aside its differences and band together.

oh he will have a border soon enough.

Berengar had thoroughly outraged the Catholic world with his reformation, and in doing so, created many hostile states surrounding his borders. If he did not foster a powerful alliance with the East, he would undoubtedly be fighting a coalition of the European powers by himself. After spending a lifetime at war, he would surely end up like Napoleon.
