its essentially become the lost child of his books. started off on all kinds of other projects and it feels like this one is only here to connect dots between his other books. even then he (author) stated he needed to progress the plot faster to wrap up the story.

Dunlord is technically a separate combat unit. the only thing is if the game recognized it as a combat mount once it was repurposed for that reason, esp given its not an undead.
Dave summoned his Basilisk Grumpy, as did Dog. Singund rode on his war-boar. Spark may not have had a unique mount, but a Dunlord was perfect for the Mage, while the Tengu took to the skies with his wings.
