Key words there: "...in the making" I got to "billionaire" and was just like "WAAAAIIIIITTTT a second..."
MC: "Ah, so it's a cheap wine, got it."
"You're right, that's far too little. How much for the store itself?"
That is an incredibly stupid thing to say. If he's messing with them by trying to raise the price unnecessarily, continuing to bid is paying right into his hands.
Hmm, I can see this going a few ways, but the way I'm GUESSING it might go is this: MC owns it, but it stays here at the bureau. His and Ryan's families get preferred access to it whenever they want (and by MC's family, I mean himself, his wife, and Clara). When they are not using it, it can ONLY be used by bureau agents. People using it would only have to offer a small fee, namely for the cost of upkeep and security on the monolith, and a small amount that can be put towards Ethea's medical costs. That way, he's helping people who actually do good in the community, so there's compounding results and rewards from the system for helping people by letting others use it, plus he helps out the people close to him in particular, AND has a constant inflow of cash to help pay for the rare ingredients in Ethea's healing meals. That's what makes the most sense to me.
LOL. Of COURSE it was ELDER GUO that collected all those paintings...
MC: "Well then, make sure you pick out a good new surname."
For example, a dozen paintings from a certain up and coming painting
How the hell did the original creator of this technique figure all this out?
