Hi :) I enjoyed your first chapter! The animals/ beasts that you created are a great asset in your world building. The world seems to be quite a dangerous place, where everything tries to kill you. I like your main character. I wonder how old he is - you call him a young boy, yet he's the village healer and alchemist already!
