"Sorry," I smile sheepishly at him. "I know you're impatient, I'm sorry, but it's really hard to not say cheesy song lyrics right now that under the lights tonight," I blush, pointing at the lights he has strung around the room. "You turned around, and you stole my heart... with just one look."
"Now that the kid- my sister that I didn't know about," Ayan says sarcastically, causing me to look at him in shock, "has left, care to repeat what you just said to Naira, ma'am?"
"Ayan, I-" I look in his eyes, only his eyes, and taking the leap, I continue, "I like you, Ayan. I like you so, so, so, so much; it's unfathomable. So much that I feel my heart will burst out of my chest any second. Gosh, it's so embarrassing."
I sigh, rubbing my forehead in pain. "Fine," I whine, "What do you want me to, uh, do? Where-how do I sit?" I ask without looking at him; I can't glance at him because, yes, a part - an unreasonable, foreign part - of me secretly does want this.
"Yes. She's amazing. I sure have a handful now. She's so funny I'll never get bored." He smiles at me and winks at me. I just look at him dumbfounded and before I can open my mouth again to give him a piece of my mind, my mom stuffs my mouth with dessert.
