Still doesn't change the fact that his village would be the mizukages priority. The village contains not only his lovers parent but the mizukages friends, family etc. The guilt is still there. He killed so many of his Ninjas just for his own personal reasons.dont forget that konon would kill someone just because they threatened anyone close to rei.mei's best friend(the one she accidentally melted) died bez the mizukage didn't train her becz of his scheme and the rough treatment she received becz of him.ringo was schemed against multiple times and nearly died becz of the mizukage. the only reason the mizukage is alive is solely because rei doesn't want to change the plot entirely.and rei would never accept the mizukage employing him.the mizukage has absolutely nothing that he can give to rei.rei already has a business that gives him money. He stole everything he wanted in the village. And he doesn't want a hokage under him. If he did want that he could easily just kill the mizukage in some way and with some manipulation can easily make Ringo the mizukage.he has his own own agenda already which is quite obvious from him making konon out papers all over the village.hiring the mizukage would give him 0 benifits with alot of negatives.

Why tf would the mizukage join them as a retirement plan? Even if we ignore the fact that konon probably doesn't like mizukage at all. To him the village would always be the priority. Why would rei trust him? Leaving a trap is probably not gonna happen as it would make the mizukage suspecious of rei hiding something else in his office which would eventually lead to him finding konons papers. The mizukage probably didn't anticipate it to happen right now. The villages fire power is crumbling. He would probably try to do anything to stop rei's group or atleast Ringo from leaving.

Tbh i don't understand wtf is even happening?? Even After putting multiple people near rei into his stupid plots rei doesnt seem to hold a grudge towards the mizukage?? after learning that mei is an SS class mizukage isn't even checking if she is loyal? Shouldn't he be asking some trick questions to check where mei stands especially after their village has lost some much fire power? Tbh wtf is the mizukage even doing?? He seemed like a determined person doing so much for his revenge against konoha but he suddenly just gave up. Shouldn't he start searching for some technique to revive his lover or something?
